WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISM (WDO) INSPECTION
FLORIDA WDO & TERMITE INSPECTIONS
WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISM INSPECTIONS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA
A Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) inspection evaluates the visible and accessible areas of a property for evidence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms.
In Florida real estate transactions, the inspection findings are documented using the state-prescribed WDO inspection report.
Orgova provides WDO inspections for clients who need WDO documentation as part of a real estate transaction or property evaluation. When combined with a comprehensive home inspection, both services can typically be completed during the same appointment for added convenience.
WDO inspections are performed by Orgova under Florida WDO Consultants LLC, the licensed pest control company under whose supervision the inspections are conducted. Following the inspection, the report is prepared and submitted to Florida WDO Consultants LLC for review and approval before the completed report is provided to the client.
WHAT DOES A FLORIDA WDO INSPECTION INCLUDE?
A Florida WDO inspection is not limited to termites. The inspection evaluates visible and accessible areas of the structure for evidence of wood-destroying organisms and documents the findings required by the applicable Florida WDO inspection report.
The inspection includes observations for live wood-destroying organisms, visible evidence of current or previous WDO activity, and visible damage associated with wood-destroying organisms.
Areas that cannot be inspected because they are obstructed or inaccessible are identified on the report, along with the reason they could not be inspected.
When evidence of a wood-destroying organism is observed, the applicable findings are documented on the report.
Because portions of a structure may be concealed or inaccessible, a WDO inspection does not guarantee that wood-destroying organisms or related damage are absent from the property.
WDO INSPECTIONS WITH YOUR HOME INSPECTION
When you’re purchasing a home and need a WDO inspection, Orgova can typically perform it during your comprehensive home inspection. This allows both inspections to be completed during the same appointment while providing the separate documentation associated with each service.
The two inspections serve different purposes. A comprehensive home inspection evaluates the home’s major systems and components, while a WDO inspection specifically evaluates visible and accessible areas for evidence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms and provides the applicable Florida WDO documentation.
Adding the WDO inspection to your home inspection provides a convenient way to obtain this additional property information without coordinating a separate inspection appointment.
MORE THAN QUALIFIED
SPECIALIZED WDO TRAINING
Florida WDO inspections require specialized training and authorization beyond a standard home inspector license.
Orgova performs WDO inspections through the appropriate Florida pest-control licensing structure and in accordance with the applicable WDO inspection and reporting requirements.
This specialized training includes identifying wood-destroying organisms and evidence of infestation or damage, understanding conditions associated with WDO activity, and properly documenting inspection findings for the Florida WDO report.
